STUDENT ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP
BABC offers two, $1,000 scholarships for seniors at Beachside High School; one is awarded to a female athlete and one is awarded to a male athlete. The scholarships will be awarded to applicants for his/her freshman year of college or university study.
Applicant must be accepted to an accredited college or university; minimum two-year varsity letter earner, either in same or different sport; academically eligible to participate in varsity sports while attending BHS. The applicant’s family must be members of the BABC during the current school year.
Applicants will be asked to:
complete the attached application
submit two letters of recommendation (1. coach or faculty member; 2. teacher, mentor, guidance counselor or family friend)
write and submit two short essays
Each essay must be 250-300 words. Essay prompts:
How has playing athletics at Beachside impacted you on and off the field? Give examples.
What are your future goals? Explain how being a part of Beachside athletics has helped prepare you for future success.
Selected applicants will be asked to attend a 10-minute interview, during which they will share their BHS athletic experience, how it influenced their future goals, and how they positively interacted with others through athletics.
